Video Game: Costume Quest [2011]

This is a seriously adorable game with the witty design and dialogue we expect from Double Fine. In it, a brother and sister go trick-or-treating together but get kidnapped by Grubbins, real monsters from outer space. Whichever one you chose as your protagonist must rescue the other, harnessing the latent powers of their Halloween costumes and collecting candy wherever it might be hiding. The pacing was good, the premise light and simple. I spent Halloween of 2017 playing this game while I played the 1931 Dracula with Bela Lugosi on mute. It was a delightful experience.
